Mid Century Modern Gel Printing Workshop
Discover the bold shapes, clean lines, and vibrant color combinations that define Mid-Century Modern design while exploring the versatile world of gel printing.
Whether you’re new to gel printing or already have some experience, this workshop offers something for everyone. You’ll learn how to build layered prints using commercial stencils as well as simple geometric shapes and their negative spaces, creating striking patterns and visual depth.
We’ll explore the iconic Mid-Century Modern color palette and design elements for inspiration before transforming your unique prints into geometric collage pieces. Cut, arrange, and compose your printed papers into a finished artwork that can be framed as contemporary wall art or turned into a one-of-a-kind greeting card, depending on the project size.
Come experiment, play with color and shape, and leave with beautiful handmade prints, new techniques, and a finished project inspired by one of the most enduring design styles of the 20th century.
It is optional to purchase your own stencils in advance. An artist named FMD Design has created an impressive selection of stencils with Mid Century Modern patterns. She can be found on joggles.com
