Description
Monday August 3
10am to 1pm
In this workshop, you will learn to use faience (also known as Egyptian paste). It is the oldest form of glazed ceramics and primarily used for jewelry making or small sculptures. It is a self-glazing material known as efflorescence glazing created by the salts in the paste, creating a fuzzy film during the drying process then fired in the kiln to 1828 degrees at cone 06 where the temperature then vitrifies the paste into a pretty blue hard bead or sculpture. Each student will get their own bag of 100 grams of paste.
