This is an online class using the Zoom platform. You will be emailed the Zoom link before the class starts.
Discover collage as an accessible, expressive art form built from cutting, layering, and combining found imagery and materials. In this beginner-friendly, interactive online course, you’ll explore the history and contemporary practice of collage while learning core techniques—composition, color, texture, and visual storytelling—
In this course, you will:
- Learn about the easily acquired tools, various adhesives, and safety tips for clean, confident collage-making
- Practice techniques like cutting, tearing, layering, and image transfer basics to build depth and texture
- Use composition strategies such as focal point, balance, contrast, and rhythm to strengthen your designs
- Develop a personal image library from catalogs, magazines, painted and found papers
- Create at least 6 finished pieces of varying complexity
Complete beginners and artists in other mediums who want a structured introduction to collage. No prior drawing or painting experience required.
Please register early as class registration closes 48 hours before the start of first-class. Registration must be accompanied by full payment

The Falmouth Art Center is very proud to have a scholarship fund supported by donations from members and friends. It is available for both children and adults who have a great desire to create art. Scholarship Information and Forms
Refund policy:
Refunds will not be given within one week of the start of a class. Classes are not pro-rated, and there are no makeups for missed classes. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.
The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.
