Description

Tuesdays, February 18 – March 25
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

This is a 6 week class.

The perfect class for the beginning artist! In six classes, your instructor, Bill Noble, will take you through everything you need to know to start painting with oils. Bill will explain materials, including paints, brushes and canvases, so that you can choose what you really need to get started. You will learn about basic rules of composition and color values, and how to layer paints. Learning how to self-critique is also covered. Finally, there will be instruction on framing and about local options to learn more.

Please register early as class registration closes 48 hours before the start of first-class. Registration must be accompanied by full payment.

The Falmouth Art Center is very proud to have a scholarship fund supported by donations from members and friends. It is available for both children and adults who have a great desire to create art. Applications should be submitted to Laura Reckford, Executive Director of the Falmouth Art Center. REFUND POLICY:

Refunds will not be given within one week of the start of a class. Classes are not pro-rated, and there are no makeups for missed classes. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.

The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.

Bill will discuss materials with you during the first class.

Instructor Bio

Bill was honored to be named Artist In Residence at La Grande Vigne, in Dinan, France in 2016. He is very proud to hold the title, Le Pensionnaire de l’Atelier des Artiste, Dinan, France.

He is a Juried and Exhibiting member of Oil Painters of America, the Cape Cod Art Center, South Cape Artists, and is a Life Member of The Falmouth Art Center.. He has won numerous awards and honors for his paintings. Bill has had seven one-man shows including one in Europe and has two paintings in the permanent collection of Musee Yvonne Jean-Haffen in Dinan, France and a painting in the permanent collection of Cape Cod Five Bank, as well as many private collections.

Bill was mentored for two and a half years by Joan A. Ledwith, PPSCC and studied extensively with
Cape Cod Master Artist, Robert K. Roark. He has also studied with Colleen Vandeventer, Associate
Member of Oil Painters of America, Vail Pagliarani, and JT Harding. He has attended numerous
workshops and demonstrations by such noteworthy artists as Robert Douglas Hunter, Anatoly Dverin,
David Clark, Mike Rooney, and Don Demers.

His work has been published in Cape Cod Life Magazine, The Enterprise Newspaper, The Sun
Chronicle, Peninsula Council Reporter, and Cape Cod Magazine. Critics have described his work as
clean, crisp, and refreshing.

He has exhibited his work in many prestigious venues including The Cahoon Museum of American
Art, Highfield Hall, Attleboro Art Museum, Cape Cod Cultural Center, and the Cape Cod Art Center,
and Falmouth Art Center. In 2016 he was invited to exhibit at the Spring Bull Gallery, Newport, RI and
a Salon Show at the DeBlois Gallery in Middletown, RI.

His work can be seen on a regular basis at the Falmouth Art Center and the Cape Cod Art Center.
