Description
Thursdays, January 9 – February 13
9:30 am – 12:00 noon
This is a six week class.
Express yourself. Art 201 is a multimedia course designed to develop your unique voice as an artist. Art 201 explores traditional and non-traditional art, weaving its way in and out of the box. From collage to cartoons. Landscapes to portraits to abstracts. If you can imagine it, you can create it in Art 201, while seamlessly reviewing fundamental painting skills and techniques. Instruction is individualized. Moreover, in order to broaden your painting vocabulary, Art 201 adds, periodically, a unit in which students research the work of artists worldwide: past and present, from Australia to the Americas, South Africa to Samoa. Art 201 provides a supportive, non-competitive environment in which each student can develop their art skills at their own pace and in their own way.
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Note to oil painters: Please use water-based oils in class instead of traditional oil paints and solvents.
Please register early as class registration closes 48 hours before the start of first class. Registration must be accompanied by full payment.
