Don’t forget to pack a lunch! If you forgot your lunch or need to pick one up early in the morning, Cape Cod Bagel is open and located about one mile from FAC and makes sandwiches early in the morning.
This is a color-based workshop designed for artists who work with oil paints to grasp a better understanding of light and color. The artist will paint from life. John will show various ways to mix and apply color that will make your painting light filled and express the light key. We will work on getting good structural design through values and color.
Each class will have a different lesson. Using various tools (Brushes as well as a painting knife) the artists will work on getting good color notes to bring out expressive designs. We will also go over the use of creating Notan for our designs.
We will work in an around Falmouth, creating paintings and studies, and then bring them back to the studio for a critique or to finish. If the weather should be inclement we will work on a still life, or exercises that improve our paintings, such as Light and Shade and Notan, for better painting designs.
Check the Materials tab for supplies students need to bring with them to class.
