10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Artists, at one time or another all experience the proverbial confrontation with the blank canvas. To some, this is empowering…to others draining. It usually involves a struggle with preconceived notions about what a piece of art ‘should be’. These frustrating thoughts and emotions hinder creativity- resulting in timid, tight, or overly composed artwork.
The Workshop in Creativity is a course in nontraditional approaches to art making. Developed and taught by artist Jon Moore while on the faculty at Northeastern University, the workshop was designed to bring forth the inherent creativity that lies within all of us. The course uses a multi-disciplined process involving drawing, phone photography, and writing exercises to examine and confront creative blocks in a fun and freeing atmosphere.
