This is a 6-week class.

Weaving with Christine Anderson is designed for students with previous weaving experience. Students will be encouraged to design and plan their own personal projects in this class. Emphasis will be placed on learning the basics of weaving and becoming more independent with the process of setting up the loom. The class will cover all the skills necessary to set up a 2-harness or 4-harness loom for weaving. Skills will include winding the warp and dressing the loom. Depending on their individual interests, students will learn a variety of weaving techniques that can be applied to their weavings.

REFUND POLICY:

Refunds will not be given within one week of the start of a class. Classes are not pro-rated, and there are no make-ups for missed classes. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.

The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.

If Falmouth Public Schools are closed due to weather conditions, we will be closed and the missed classes will be rescheduled.

Materials

Looms and weaving fibers will be provided; material fees will be assessed by individual project.

Instructor Bio

Christine Anderson, a weaver and fiber artist, finds the intersection of threads both basic and centering to her life.  Her work includes intricate woven tapestries of local landscapes and conceptual work that combines weaving with mixed media, including scanned digital images, handmade paper, fabrics, and beads.  Originally from New England she completed a BS in Art from Cedar Crest College and a MFA in Fibers and Handmade Paper from East Tennessee State University.
