Description
Mondays, September 16 – October 21
10:00am to 12:00pm
This is a 6-week class.
If you are new to weaving the terms alone can be confusing: warp and weft, harness and heddle, sett and sley. This class will help you sort out the terminology while learning how to weave. Instruction will cover the processes necessary to set up a 4-harness loom. This includes preparing and winding the warp, beaming the loom, and beginning to weave. Basic and classic weave structures will be introduced, and students will be encouraged to try out different weaving techniques.
In this class students will be encouraged to plan and create a project that has personal meaning. The studio has collected several weaving patterns that can be explored and adapted for individual use. Emphasis will be placed on becoming independent with the process of setting up the loom and exploring the joys of weaving.
If you think this class might be for you but have questions or concerns, please call Christine (774-487-2134) for more information.
Please register early as class registration closes 48 hours before the start of first-class. Registration must be accompanied by full payment
