10:00 am – 12:00 pm
This is a 6-week class.
Sitting at a loom and weaving with colorful yarns can be a delightful experience. Getting to the weaving part can be confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming! In this class we will break down all the steps and try to make sense of the how the warp and weft come together in harmony. Instruction will cover all the steps necessary to set up a loom, including winding the warp, dressing the loom, and beginning to weave. Basic and classic weave structures will be introduced, and students will be encouraged to explore different weaving techniques.
This class is designed for people with weaving experience but feel they need additional guidance and support to plan and set up the loom. Students with a knowledge of weaving will be encouraged to choose their own personal projects in this class. The studio has collected several weaving patterns that can be explored and adapted for individual use. Emphasis will be placed on becoming more independent with the process of setting up the loom and exploring the joys of weaving.
