Instructor Bio

Sarah Kahn is a local mixed media collage artist who has spent 20+ years creating works by layering fabric, papers, and acrylic pigments to create non-representational images.   She is interested in abstract art because it invites the viewer to free-associate and allows a direct perception for the viewer to recall important personal experiences.  Sarah has participated in Newton Open Studios for 15+ years and has been represented in the SOWA district from 2004 through 2013.  She teaches at The New Art Center in Newton, MA as well as classes for developmentally disabled adults and women impacted by domestic violence.
