This is a 3-week class.
This class is designed for beginners or students who need additional help setting up and weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom. If you are interested in learning to weave the Rigid Heddle loom is a great place to start. The loom is versatile and conveniently portable. It can be used to make functional items like hand towels, table runners, scarfs, or the loom can be used to design and create wall hangings using different weaving techniques.
Please know The Falmouth Art Center has Rigid Heddle looms that can be borrowed for this workshop. Contact the center prior to the workshop if you need to borrow a loom.
Demonstrations and discussions will include all the steps and procedures to set up the loom to start weaving with warping the loom using the direct and indirect method, winding the warp, and tying on prior to weaving. Different weaving techniques will be introduced, and students will be encouraged to create a sampler of techniques.
If you have questions, please contact Christine Anderson (774-487-2134).
