In this workshop, we’ll explore a range of subjects, including streetscapes, boats, and landscapes. Students will learn how to approach complex scenes with ease, capturing their essence without getting bogged down by excessive details. The focus will be on mastering watercolor techniques using a bold, loose brush style, helping you convey the character of your subject with confidence and fluidity.
Students will discover how to
- Define Existing Landscapes into Three Focal Planes: Learn how to break down any scene into three distinct planes to simplify and effectively approach complex subject matter
- Identify Focal Areas within the Three Planes: Understand how to locate the key focus areas and position them within the three planes of vision to create balance and interest in your composition.
- Apply Different Techniques to Convey Depth: Master specific painting techniques for each plane, allowing you to create a strong sense of depth and dimension in your work.
- Add Finishing Details: Refine your painting with intricate details that enhance the overall composition without overwhelming it.
- Energize Your Painting with Bold Brushwork: Bring vitality to your artwork through dynamic and confident brushwork that emphasizes movement and expression.
Falmouth Art Center Refund Policy:
Refunds will not be given within two months of the start of this workshop. Workshops are not pro-rated. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.
The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.
