Fridays, July 1 – August 5
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

 Class meets online using the Zoom platform.

Using a variety of drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, and traditional folding techniques students will make a collection of Mixed Media Abstract books.

Though art books are suggested for assignments and projects the mixed media techniques shared in this class can be applied to traditional collage and painterly works.  

Scholarship information:

The Falmouth Art Center is very proud to have a scholarship fund supported by donations from members and friends.  It is available for both children and adults who have a great desire to create art.  Applications should be submitted to Laura Reckford, Executive Director of the Falmouth Art Center. Materials

MATERIALS:

 

PAPER!!!!  Preferably a Mixed Media paper 18″x 24″ 

GLUE- My favorite is MOD PODGE – Elmers and other forms of glues are suitable

Scissors

Exacto knife

OPTIONAL** Rug hooking tool, small crochet hook, and or needle.  

A ruler 

A bone folder 

A variety of drawing materials- pens, pencils, color pencils, crayons, markers

PAINT- ACRYLIC or Watercolors are nice 

PAINT BRUSHES

PALETTE KNIFE 

Matte Medium

Collage Materials- old books, magazines, old mail, maps, tissue paper, napkins, anything really!!

Tracing paper 

Throw Away painting palette PAD

 

Instructor Bio

Mellissa Morris is currently the Artist in Residence at 46 Pearl Street in Hyannis. Mellissa has been teaching Abstract Painting classes and workshops for over ten years at local art organizations and colleges in Massachusetts.
