Description
Wednesdays, Nov 6th to December 18th (7 week session)
9:30am to 12:00pm
The element of texture and mark making is an alluring quality in pastel painting. Artists achieve this in many ways and this series will focus on how various surfaces used for pastel painting can contribute to an overall effect.
Betsy will share various pastel techniques to enhance textural mark making on various support papers. She will also show how to create your own textured surfaces with pumice / pastel. Lessons will continue to reinforce the partnership between value sketches and notan designs to enhance your composition and establish a clear plan for painting in value zones. Creative color options will infuse personality into your painting, and heighten the emotive quality. This is a great time to let loose and experiment with new techniques and surfaces!
