Sundays, April 7 to May 12
10:00 am – 1:00 pm (6 Weeks)

This intensive 6 week class will focus on elements of design and surface treatments. Demonstrations of glaze, slip, and wash applications, will be coupled with information and conversation of glaze and clay chemistry. Although some making will take place during this class, our focus will be on finishing techniques, so all participants should come with 3-5 pieces of bisqueware representative of the kind of work they create.

Six week classes include a bag of clay, but if you wish to utilize the studio for the full session, you must sign up for Clay Coop for the remaining 6 weeks.

Falmouth Art Center Refund Policy:

Refunds will not be given within one month of the start of a workshop. Workshops are not pro-rated. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.

The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.

Instructor Bio

Seth Rainville is a professional potter, art educator, and independent curator living in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He has taught ceramics at multiple venues including the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, South County Art Association, Arch Contemporary Ceramics, the Mesa Art Center and Phoenix Center for the Arts. He has also conducted over 30 workshops across the country including recent workshops at Harvard Ceramics, Mudflat Ceramics Studio, and at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. Seth’s teaching style requires students to enjoy the process while learning a strong base of fundamentals.
