The gel plate is becoming more and more popular among beginners, but also professional artists. The silicon plate acts as a printing tool that is simple to use, however, can yield extraordinary results. The basic equipment consists of a gel plate, a brayer, acrylic paint and paper. This workshop is designed for beginners and people who have already had experience with the gel plate.
The focus of this workshop is to make prints while using stencils. We will observe how seemingly unrelated stencil designs will lead to interesting patterns on our prints. We will discuss layering techniques and the so called “ghost prints”.
Although the required materials are provided, it is recommended to bring your own paint and stencils and other favorite art supplies.
