Description
Thursday, April 23
3:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Gel plate printing has become increasingly popular among both beginners and professional artists. The soft silicone plate serves as a simple yet versatile printing surface that can produce beautifully layered and unexpected results. With just a few basic tools—a gel plate, a brayer, acrylic paint, and paper—you can explore a wide range of creative possibilities.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, we will experiment with various materials and everyday tools to create textures and patterns. We will also discuss papers, paints, and color combinations to help you develop your own style. Experienced gel printers are welcome, too, as there are always new techniques to explore and creative possibilities to discover in a community of like-minded makers.
Participants will create many prints during the session and will select their favorites for a personal art journal. In the second, optional session, we will assemble the journal and enhance the pages with additional layers and embellishments.
Please note there is a continuation as an art journal creating workshop on April 24th 3 pm – 5:30 pm
