January 8th through February 26th

Please note: On February 19th class will meet from 1:00 pm t0 3:00 pm instead of in the morning.

This drawing class is designed for students with some drawing experience who would like to continue using the skills required to render what they see, and have fun doing it! You will work with line and tone, and use them to bring a drawing to life. Through a variety of exercises you will continue to train your eye, hand and imagination to work together and discover a drawing style that expresses who you are and what makes your heart sing.

 

Limit: 10 students

Refund policy:

Refunds will not be given within one week of the start of a class. Classes are not pro-rated, and there are no makeups for missed classes. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.

The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.

If Falmouth Public Schools are closed due to weather conditions, we will be closed and the missed classes will be rescheduled.

 

 

 

 

Materials

  • Pencils:

H, 2B, 4B, 6B

  • Pencil Sharpener with 2 holes
  • Blending stumps/shading stick (or Q-tips)
  • Erasers:

Kneaded art eraser

Plastic Eraser

  • Pens:

Metal tip permanent- fine (Micron or Sharpie)

Broad tip (Copic)

  • Colored Pencils (Prismacolor are really nice)
  • Baby wipes and paper towels
  • Paper:

11 x 14 pad of heavy drawing paper (80 lb +)

18 x 24 newsprint

sketchbook  9 x 12 or larger

a few sheets of 12 x 18 140 lb. watercolor paper

Instructor Bio

Susan has a B.S. in Art Education from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY and M.A. in Printmaking from San Jose State University. She was an art educator for over 20 years in Portland, Maine, and has been an art teacher at the Falmouth Art Center since 2013.
