This is a 6 week class for students ages 10-13
Strengthen your drawing and painting skills in this fun and challenging class! Students will explore different drawing and painting techniques including shading and realism, watercolor landscapes, acrylic abstraction and more. Each week will incorporate various warm-up practices before shifting into a specific project.

The Falmouth Art Center is very proud to have a scholarship fund supported by donations from members and friends. It is available for both children and adults who have a great desire to create art. Applications should be submitted to Laura Reckford, Executive Director of the Falmouth Art Center. Scholarship Information and Forms
This class will cover the basics of drawing and watercolor painting and including outside time to sketch from nature. Bring a beach or camp chair or towel to sit on when we go outside, weather permitting. If your child brings a snack to class, please make sure it is peanut-free.
Refund policy:
Refunds will not be given within one week of the start of a class. Classes are not pro-rated, and there are no makeups for missed classes. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.
The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.
Léonie Little-Lex is a fine artist and illustrator who recently moved back to Cape Cod from Boston. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration in 2009, then went on to complete her Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2012. She shows her work in galleries on Cape Cod and in the greater Boston area, and has also exhibited nationally in Oregon, New York, and North Carolina. She works in a variety of mediums with an emphasis on painting and pen-and-ink drawings. She recently completed illustrating her first children’s book, “A is for Always” (written by Linda Cutting, Workman Publishing), to be released August 2022. In addition to her work as an artist, Léonie has been an instructor in drawing and painting for over 10 years, both in private and community settings.
