Thursdays, January 9 to February 13
1:00 pm to 3:30 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am delighted to be teaching Cape Cod Landscape Painting at the Falmouth Art Center and look forward to working with you and helping you to become the painters you want to be!

In the first class I will do a demonstration of how to begin a landscape painting. This will be a refresher for some and new for others. For those of you who just want to jump right in and paint that is fine, too.

The class is based on a limited palette but you will have more choices as you become more comfortable mixing colors and understanding the color wheel. Click on the “materials” tab to view the suggested supply list.

Refund policy:

Refunds will not be given within one week of the start of a class. Classes are not pro-rated, and there are no makeups for missed classes. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.

The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.

If Falmouth Public Schools are closed due to weather conditions, we will be closed and the missed classes will be rescheduled.

Instructor Bio

I enjoy two worlds of artistic expression. First,  as a teacher I find it rewarding to guide students and help them to develop artistically.  Many of my students started out as beginning painters and have successfully gone on to become wonderful established painters. Also, I have made many friends through the years by teaching adults in the Falmouth Community.

Secondly, I am a painter and express my art through portraiture, the landscape and still life.  I consider myself an Expressionist and Colorist having been influenced by the works of Picasso, Bonnard, Matisse, Van Gogh and the German Expressionists.

I work in oils, acrylics and pastels. From this diversity of mediums I am able to select which would be best for each subject I approach. My palette consists of bright, rich, vibrant colors. Color plays a very important role in my compositions for it is the intensity of the paint and the  play of lights and darks on the canvas surface that I enjoy most.

I play with color when painting as it allows me to create the emotional  environment and response that I am trying to convey in a composition.  Color,  for me, is fun and the ultimate goal in achieving  excitement and life in my painting.
