Pastels are such a wonderful medium and in this class you will learn techniques to create paintings full of energy, texture and color! This class is designed for optimal opportunity to practice and experiment with ways to approach pastel painting on sanded pastel papers. Through demonstration of weekly focused  exercises the class will develop confidence with linear and painterly mark making skills, practice ways to use value as a key tool to make your color decisions and experiment with toned surfaces to enhance your painting. In addition to demonstration and class exercise, class time will include individual painting opportunities and class critiques.

Zoom format will provide you with a close up view of my easel while I demonstrate techniques and a fundamental steps for painting with pastels. I am happy to take questions during demonstrations.
