Hybrid Online/In-Person Art 201: All Media For Intermediate Painters with Claudia Smith-Jacobs – Thursdays (Late Fall)


Within the framework of an open studio and under the guidance of the instructor, students will develop their skills as artists while working on projects of their own choice.

This is a 6-week class. This class is a hybrid online/in-person class. Students who take class in person should review our pandemic protocols above.  If you would prefer to take the class online via Zoom, let us know and we will send you the link.

Please register early as class registration closes 48 hours before the start of first class.  Registration must be accompanied by full payment.


If you want to “up” your skill set and find your own voice, Art 201 is for you.  Interested in Art History?  Curious about multicultural art world-wide?  Want to mix your mediums? Try collage? Explore 3-D ?  Create Protest Art?  Review color theory, anatomy and art basics?  Want to climb out of the box?  Try Art 201.  Express yourself.

Scholarship Fund: 

The Falmouth Art Center is very proud to have a scholarship fund supported by donations from members and friends.  It is available for both children and adults who have a great desire to create art.  Applications should be submitted to Laura Reckford, Executive Director of the Falmouth Art Center. Scholarship Information and Forms


Refunds will not be given within one week of the start of a class. Classes are not pro-rated, and there are no makeups for missed classes. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.

The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.

If Falmouth Public Schools are closed due to weather conditions, we will be closed and the missed classes will be rescheduled.

Instructor Bio

Claudia Smith-Jacobs received a B.A. from Boston University and an M.A.Ed from Lesley University. She has studied art in England and in France. She has been awarded the Romanos-Rizk fellowship given by the Provincetown Art Center Museum as well as two Mass Arts grants, and was selected as Artist-in Residence by Les Amis de la Grande Vigne in Dinan, France.
