This course is suitable for beginners and intermediate painters.

Instructor: Michael A. Giaquinto

This is an introductory course for beginners & or a refresher course for people with some acrylic experience. Still-lifes will be used to create your paintings and there will be in-studio demonstrations and class critiques. Develop your skills to improve your painting techniques. Instruction is there for those who need to develop their own style.

FALMOUTH ART CENTER REFUND POLICY:

Refunds will not be given within one month of the start of a workshop. Workshops are not pro-rated. A $25 processing fee is withheld from all refunds.

The Art Center reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment, in which case tuition will be fully refunded.

Materials

Materials List for Beginning Acrylic Painting

Colors – Black, White, Red, Yellow, Blue.

Brushes: Variety of sizes for acrylic paint + 2” wide brush (cheap)

Canvas Boards: 11” x 14” or 12” x 16”

One (empty clean) coffee can

A roll of paper towels

Instructor Bio

Michael A. Giaquinto is an abstract painter living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He is also the Exhibitions Curator at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. He studied studio art at Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, MA, and he studied art history at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC

He was the art teacher at St. John Paul II High School in Hyannis, MA. and he has taught at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth, MA, and the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, Truro, MA.

Currently he teaches acrylic painting for adults at the Weny Education Center at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Creative Arts Center in Chatham, MA.

Michael is included in Deborah Forman’s book, Contemporary Cape Cod Artists on Abstraction, 2015.
