Diana Lee began her journey as an artist with four years of intensive studio work at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
She specializes in the human figure and still life, primarily using oils and pastels to create her compositions. Recently, she has been nominated for acceptance into the prestigious Copley Society of Art in Boston.
Diana Lee’s student cohort shares a dedication to developing their skills and understanding of interplay of form and function.
They delight in creating works that capture color, light, mood, and the joy of life on the Cape, in their experiences with their families, their travels, and in their unlimited perceptions of the moments that define their work.
Bobbie Barlow decided to study art after retiring. She has studied with Diana Lee for over seven years.
Carol Bernon is a retired biology teacher whose deep appreciation for the natural work—and lifelong love of birding—led her to explore visual art.
Martha Gavenas has been painting and sketching for over 40 years. She moved to Falmouth ten years ago and joined Diana Lee’s painting class.
Justine McLoughlin is a retired biology teacher at Sandwich High School. After retirement, she has embraced her artistic dreams.
Marlene Pinsky Panish has been a student of art and a local art teacher for over 40 years. She moved to Falmouth in 1975.
Beth Rockwell, an award-winning artist, began her art education in the sculpture department at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University in Washington D.C. After retirement and moving to Cape Cod, she began studying with Diana Lee and focusing on mood, light and color.
Carol Tinkham is a mostly-retired court reporter; the artwork on display is her first painting.
