“Bewitching Hour” by Anne Tcherepnin

A Personal View: Works by Anne Tcherepnin: June 29 – July 20.

Artist’s Statement: “Each painting of mine is a journey that begins with an idea, an encounter with a certain subject, a time of day, a season, a moment. It is in the everyday moments of life that I feel the most gratitude. I am drawn to the abstract possibility of the composition and the interplay of light and shadow. Many of these ideas were developed while riding my horse on the cranberry bogs and beaches, through the fields and woods of Cape Cod where I live. My color choices are inspired by these solitary rides. My goal is to connect you to the painting you see in such a way that you can personalize it.”

A Skidmore College graduate, Ms. Tcherepnin studied at the Art Student’s League in New York City and the California College of Arts and Crafts. In addition to the Falmouth Art Center, she is a member of the Duxbury Art Association, Oil Painters of America and the Guild of Boston Artists, among other groups. She has won a host of awards including first place prizes and best in show, for her paintings over the past 12 years, at venues locally and regionally.

The Falmouth Art Center galleries are open daily, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, Saturday 10am to 2pm and Sunday 1 to 4pm.
