This workshop is Free.
It is limited to 6 students.
Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, 9am to 3pm
A low-key weekend workshop for abstract painters at any level who want to explore what they’re painting and why, by working through five possible sources of inspiration (nature, music, people and the work of other abstract painters, as well as an introduction to meditation). Students will work independently much of the time and have to be self-motivated in order to get the most out of the two days.
All materials (drawing tools, water-based paints, brushes, canvas) will be provided for free.
Students should wear an apron or other clothing to protect against paint. Part of the class will involve the option of walking outside in the wooded area around the Art Center for inspiration. (Mosquito and tick repellant will be supplied.)
Students should bring a bag lunch.
The Abstract Workshop is open to all active painters in any genre who are at least 21 years old, regardless of their experience. Students only need a serious interest in what abstract art is and what inspires what the abstract painter puts on the canvas. Please fill out the attached form and email to director@falmouthart.org or drop off at Falmouth Art Center, 137 Gifford Street, Falmouth.
If you are unable to print out the form, stop by the front window of the Falmouth Art Center to pick up a form, or give us a call (508-540-3304) and we can help you fill it out over the phone.
Once your form is received, you will be notified and emailed an information form with more information about the workshop.
