This is a ten week class.

This “open studio” style class allows ceramists of all skill levels to hone their craft. Whether you have never taken a clay class or you are a seasoned professional, this class will grant you access to asking questions and receiving personalized instruction from one of our areas best potters. Maybe you have always wanted to make a teapot, or you just want to sit and make your very own morning coffee mug. Maybe you need to refine your glazing skills or want to learn how to make slab work… all of this can be covered if it’s what you want to do!

Seth Rainville is a professional potter, art educator, and independent curator living in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He has taught ceramics at multiple venues including the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, South County Art Association, Arch Contemporary Ceramics, the Mesa Art Center and Phoenix Center for the Arts. He has also conducted over 30 workshops across the country including recent workshops at Harvard Ceramics, Mudflat Ceramics Studio, and at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. Seth’s work can be found in gallery exhibitions and in Museums such as the DeYoung Museum and the American Museum of Ceramic Arts in California. He has been represented by some of the leading Gallerists in the United States including Leslie Ferrin. Rainville’s vast experience includes his work as Curator for the New Bedford Art Museum, Programming and Development Director for the South County Art Association, owning and operating his own gallery, and serving on several boards including the Artist Advisory Board for Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Maine. Seth’s teaching style requires students to enjoy the process while learning a strong base of fundamentals.
