This is a 6 week class that meets for one and one-half hours each week.

This is a beginner’s class with no drawing or painting experience necessary.

Our first meeting includes a discussion of options for choosing and purchasing paints and materials needed for class.  All materials will be provided for this class. We will experiment with a variety of these so that students can make informed choices when making purchases.

In subsequent classes, we’ll explore color, composition, and basic techniques for using acrylic paints. Students will be guided through simple exercises, allowing them to strengthen skills as they progress.  Our emphasis will be on process, not product.

Note: Materials will be supplied for the first class only.

Being naturally creative early on, Christina’s first “teaching” experience was giving art lessons to her neighborhood elementary school friends.  She went on to major in art in college, earning a BA in Art Education.  Later, intrigued by the possibilities computers offered, she received an M.Ed. in Educational Technology.

Over the years Christina has taught art and facilitated workshops in schools, colleges, galleries, libraries and the like.  She has shown her work in numerous exhibitions, both group and solo to include Cape Cod Museum of Art, The Spectrum Gallery, Falmouth Art Center, PAAM, Gallery 337 and Color Obsession Gallery.

Presently, Christina is working on a new series of paintings while also volunteering in the community. She is a VIPS volunteer for the Falmouth schools and also designs posters and marketing materials for local non-profits.
